Vastu compliance, explained

An optional ruleset layered on top of byelaws and egress — toggle it on when a client wants it checked, leave it off when they don't.

Alongside the byelaw and egress checks, Floor Plan Studio ships an optional Vastu ruleset you can toggle independently of the region/building-code selector. When enabled, it checks a plan against a set of traditional spatial-orientation principles: entrance orientation relative to the plot's cardinal direction, kitchen placement in the South-East, master bedroom in the South-West, and a pooja/prayer room in the North-East, among others.

We built it as a genuinely separate, opt-in layer rather than folding it into the default ruleset, because Vastu is a client preference, not a building code — some clients want every plan checked against it, many don't care, and it shouldn't silently affect a plan's pass/fail status for people who never asked for it. When it's on, Vastu results show up in their own category alongside byelaws, egress and accessibility, with the same pass/warn/fail treatment and canvas highlighting as everything else.
